Until There's A Cure!

Until there's a cure, there's no finish line!

Leave impossible behind, be inspired. get off the couch. meet like-minded people. be extraordinary. create a world without cancer. be someone's hero. find your inner athlete. change lives, starting with your own. save lives one mile at a time.

Please think about donating. If all of my friends and family donated just $5.00 I would be able to raise over 3000, which would be exceeding my goal. To those who are helping with the upcoming Chili Cook-off thank you! To those who have donated your donation is greatly appreciated. To those thinking about it now is the time to pay it forward!

34 Degrees

Today hit 34 degrees outside. Yes I did go for a walk/run this afternoon, and my goodness did it feel great.  Since I have not majorly worked out/or ran for about 3 months I started back at Week 1 Day 1 of the Couch to 5K training.  Today's workout was pretty easy which is a good thing.  I can't wait to be running for the half-marathon! Hope you are all having a great week!

Great start to the week!

Today has been a very successful day.  I was able to secure a site for the Chippewa Valley Top Chef Chili Cook-off.  This will be Sunday March 11th at the Eagles Club in Lake Hallie.  Also asked THE best DJ in the Midwest JD from Midwest Entertainment. He is so wonderful.  Got a few of the silent auction items lines up also.  If you would like to donate Chili as you think yours is the best please contact me for more details.  Also watch here as I post more as the time comes closer!  I want to Thank Bridgette with Rochelle, and Katy (massage therapist) as they both have donated.  This is going to be a great event!

I hope your Monday started out your week as good as mine has!

Paying it Forward!

These fun necklaces are available for purchase - 20.00 each which does include shipping. They are made by a friend of mine who has severe Narcolepsy! She makes these in her spare time to help her stay awake. Please help her stay awake while also helping out my fundraiser.   You can comment on here or email me at rachelstraining4acure@yahoo.com if you would like to order one of these. (They will come with the chain)

One other thing that I am super excited about is a couple other fundraisers that were talked about on Saturday when Nicole and I were able to meet up for a short period of time on Saturday!  Charity Poker Tourney, more talked about with the Chili Cook-off!

Hope you are all doing good!  I am really going to push myself (along with my toe) this week, I am headed to Jamaica with a friend and her son the end of February.  I think this will be a great motivator to really get myself back to the gym!  I will be running this half in 132 days from today!  :) Once again thank you to everyone who has helped me out during this adventure that I am enjoying.

Warm Winter Day

Yesterday was a wonderful day out.  I attempted to go for a run, unfortunately my toe was not ready for that much pressure.  I however stayed out an hour and walked just over 3 miles.  It felt great to get outside even if my toe is rebelling today.  I took a picture of the sunshiny day along with my favorite running partner, yes she is a mini doxie.  Miss Reina is full of energy and loves when we go out for long walks/runs.  I hope you all are doing good.  Fundraisers are in the works, and please think about making a tax-deductible donation to a great cause!  Thank you everyone for your support.  One last thing, I have fixed my blog so all can post now!

Fundraisers in the planning stages

Last night Nicole and Jessica (2 of my team-mates) came over and we talked about what we can do for the up-coming months.  I know we are going to have a dine to donate night, along with my start of a yearly fundraiser - Chippewa Valley Top Chef Chili Cook-off!  I am super excited for that.  If you think your chili is the best please contact me to learn more.  We are still in the planning for it but I am excited as I LOVE CHILI.  I am so glad last nights planning was good.

Now, on to my other challenge, my silly toe.  I really hope it gets better soon, this not being able to get into the gym is driving me nuts.  The swelling is starting to go down some so I am thinking, wishin, hopin that it won't be too much longer.  Hope you all had a great day today!  Welcome Winter back again!

Completing this Marathon in Honor of Nicole Koerth!

I had a wonderful conversation with my friend Connie. I asked if I could run this marathon in honor of her daughter.  Connie was more then happy!  I am so happy to hear that Nicole is in Remission from Leukemia.  Hope you all have had a great day!  Please help me support a great cause!

Also wanted to say THANK YOU to Stacey Kruger for creating this wonderful document for me!

Exposing TNT to the Chippewa Valley!

WOW since I signed up with TNT, I have gotten a couple others to join me Kyanne P, Nicole E, and then Nicole also had a friend sign up!  This is going to be a great season.  I am on hold when it comes to training, I feel down the stairs in my home on Wednesday.  My big toe is certainly not happy with me brusied and swollen.  This is just a small hurdle.  I can't wait to start running.  It will be great.  Keep posted on some wonderful fundraisers that we will be having.  If anyone would like more information about Team in Training please contact me I would love to have you join.

I am doing it again!

As of this morning, I have officially signed up for my next half marathon.  YES! You heard me correctly.  This time I will be running (this is my plan) in San Diego in the TNT Rock N Roll.  I am super excited.  TNT is running a sign up special right now, ZERO to sign up (normally 100.00).  We have til the 8th to get people signed up for an awesome cause!  Who is going to join me this round?
